Watch Six Nations online for free

Every match in the tournament will be shown on BBC One or ITV One in the UK (dates, times and channels above), so you can tune in on your TV or online. All Wales games will also be shown on S4C.

To watch live online via a PC or laptop you can use the BBC or ITV’s own streaming services, iPlayer and ITVX.

You can opt to pay for ITVX Premium if you want to watch ad-free, although not for live streams, as well as simultaneous streams and downloads. There’s a free 7-day trial then it’s £5.99pm or £59.99 annually.

There will also be a highlights show on BBC One called Six Nations Rugby Special, hosted by Ugo Monye. This will be available on BBC Two and iPlayer from 6:00pm on Sundays.

If you’re not watching via a web browser, then apps are free to download to a phone or tablet from the App Store or Google Play.

There’s also the free official Six Nations app – available on Android and iOS – which on the website says offers “real-time updates and live streaming” but we haven’t tried it yet.

If you are not on an unlimited mobile data contract on your phone or tablet you should ensure that you are connected to Wi-Fi to avoid high data charges.

To stream live rugby matches on a PC, laptop, tablet or smartphone you also need to have a valid TV Licence. Check the rules out: Do I need a TV Licence?

You can also watch the Six Nations: Full Contact season 2 documentary series on Netflix.

    Watching the Six Nations abroad

If you are abroad and want to watch the Six Nations, you can do so using a VPN. You can download a VPN (virtual private network) like NordVPN or Surfshark to do the job.

You’ll need to open the VPN up, log in to your account and then select a UK server to change your IP address to one located in the UK.

Once connected, you can then open BBC iPlayer or ITVX to watch the content. For full information, check out our guide to the best VPN services.

You can also check the local broadcaster for your country on the official site, which might be FR2, Sky Italia, ESPN or Supersport.
